Hey! How do you like your coffee?
I’ve been quite busy writing, editing, proofreading, and more these last few weeks.
And now I’m finally able to say Maneus is on Amazon!
Officially Out
If you signed up for the early notification, this is old news. However, the rest of you will be seeing this for the first time!
Maneus ended up being a little over 650 pages, broken up into three books - or sections - for each generation that carries that part of the story.
Book I—How friends are lost and made with time jumping around through a modern and personal lens.
Book II—What it means to go on a journey to find yourself stuck between a clash of magic and modernity.
Book III—Why humanity can ultimately be both flawed and good as deified idols influence the world and its religions.
Corrupted Cover
None of this would have been possible without the support from my dad and my sister Molly. They were in the trenches with me going through the full manuscript, looking for typos and mistakes and anything strange that needed to be rewritten.
I need to add an extra heartfelt thank you to Molly for her help on the art. She created all the images for Maneus.
That starts with the cover.
I wanted it to look like a rather nondescript book - almost like a textbook or similar to these tan paperbacks that are common in France.
And then she added the chaos with the swirling smoke.
It’s as if the pages themselves are being corrupted.
Two Time Author
For me, the coolest part of having Maneus out is that I’m now a two time author!
Besnowed and Maneus are both important parts of me. Bringing these thoughts from my imagination to life has been an incredible and unforgettable journey.
I can only hope they bring you as much enjoyment as they brought me!
While it remains somewhat unlikely, there’s a chance I’ll be in the Final 32 next weekend. If I make it in, I’ll be sending out a short message later this week asking everyone to tune in!
Until next time.
Cheers,
John
