How’s the weather out there?
There’s only two weeks left until demo day is here. That’ll be the end of this season of nights & weekends and a chance for me to share Besnowed with all the other builders sprinting to the finish line.
The pressure is on. Last week began with the disappointing realization that all my plans and all my counting were for naught. Besnowed had a score of zero. No one officially read or shared or cared about my story.
That needed to change. And it thankfully did!
I now have 34 people subscribed to johnbauer.substack.com and have received $155 in support!
AI Art
Last week, I spread my ideas far and wide as I worked to promote Besnowed. One of the first being exploring AI generated art, playing on the snowy themes of the story.

Audio Book
Making Besnowed more accessible was another one of my goals. Some people may not like to read on screens or prefer listening over straining eyes or simply get confused when they open a google doc.
So I recorded the first two chapters and made them available on youtube.
What really made it come together were the custom images my little sister Molly made for the chapters!

Tiktok Memes
I was reluctant to try out yet another social media platform. The short videos designed around our ever shrinking attention spans have always escaped my interest.
Turns out it’s a lot of fun! With just two videos and me barely knowing what I’m doing, I managed to get over 1000 views in under a week.

On and On
Next week I’ll be joining Kevvrites on his show to talk about Besnowed and probably drifting into ramblings on my misunderstanding of tech. I should also have an interview on Comatose in the next few days.
Other than that I’ll keep recording chapters as I’m able and posting memes wherever possible.
Thank you for reading.
Cheers,
John
