Hey! Any interesting dreams?
More than ten hours on a plane and half a day of shifting time zones has left me feeling jet lagged and groggy as I write this. The halfway point between sleepy and exhausted means my mind is floating from one hour to the next.
However, the clearest thought in my head is an incredible gratitude for the reviews that have started to come in for Besnowed!
Finding Frithlic Nyun
While seeing Besnowed make its way from a few words on a notepad to a book on my shelf has been rewarding in and of itself, I am hopeful for further success.
So even after the end of Buildspace, having written and published a book, there is still a lot of work that needs to be done.
My dream is to make telling stories the whole of who I am. And if I am to be a true writer or a proper author, I’m in a never ending struggle against the limited supply of attention in the world.
In a less opaque expression, I hope this newsletter convinces you my words are worth your time! I can’t fully develop every idea, but I definitely plan to continue promoting Besnowed.
Waiting for Peaceful Warmth
A bit of an odd update, but with traveling and the end of Buildspace it’s exactly what the recipe called for. Next week, I’ll dive into some of the inspiration behind Besnowed and share a few of the scrapped ideas from my earliest brainstorming.
Before signing off I also want to take a moment and give a special shout out to Cliona Chee. She’s a fellow Buildspace builder and is working on a project that aims to be a virtual “calm zone”. A kind of relaxing escape you can step into anywhere at any time.
She also went the extra mile to show her support for Besnowed, braving the seas of shipping to have the book delivered in Malaysia!
As a reminder in that same spirit, sharing something about Besnowed on social media or leaving a review on Amazon helps me out a ton!
Write a few words somewhere and a new passenger could soon be on the next train to my snowy countryside village.
Until next time.
Cheers,
John
