Hey! How is your holiday spirit?
I can only hope it’s as my invented Frithlic Nyun describes, both Peaceful and Warm whether the culture behind the words is Anglo-Saxon or otherwise.
As we round the corner of another season, there’s that auspicious air of remembrance on the ground and an unforgettable anthem across the sky.
Painted colors in shades of purest winter’s white, a fitting contradiction as we find each other in the songs and the snow that come together for the idyllic psalms and hymns.
We will meet again.
Reunion as definitive as an idol’s fragile flame.
—And other words that remind us of our shared human hopes. More than that which came before or the almighty first-mover, what we really remember is the time spent with each other.
An old twist on a new song with presents and presence passed between us.
My Snowy Story
I won’t drag this into more musings, but I will take this special moment to remind you all of my book that dives into the meaning.
How I hoped to recreate that blend of nostalgia and tradition, more a collection of vignettes than a structured plot.
Besnowed - Love, Memories, Meals, and Snow
Passage from Chapter 1: Aurora Sunrise
The frigid air pairs well with the warmth of Frithlic Nyun too. Seasonal nostalgia as another year comes and goes. Warm emotions reflecting Her flame for generations and generations. That part is common to all humans on the planet. We adapt, we overcome, we thrive. Life in Besniwod is no different.
The extra blankets we brought from home probably helped as well. A veritable sty as the fabric swirled in different directions on the cot. We used to call that kind of thing a nest growing up in my family. I can remember making them every year when my sisters and I were all still young – at least until my oldest sister had more than a dozen and half winters.
So, if you’re looking for a last minute gift, or just simply want to share a bit more of the holiday spirit, Besnowed would definitely get you closer to that goal—at the very least, it would certainly warm my heart to see more copies sold!
A Patchwork of Hope
Perhaps it is naught but idle thoughts floating in and out of my head, but I found myself wanting to create something again.
I dribbled and dabbled in that (un)familiar tech space where I am lost and can enjoy finding my way out.
The result is a very simple digital calling card, covering my general thoughts on the possible responses to nihilism.
A Patchwork of Hope
My journey through despair, apathy, and hope. Experiential narratives that challenge and inspire.
Whether it adds to the holy spirit and those confessed reflections or simply provides a moment of pause, all I can hope for is to leave my mark—however small it may be.
So in a closing statement, from my heart to yours, I wish you all Peaceful Warmth this holiday season—this wonderful Frithlic Nyun.
Until next time.

Happy holidays🌟
I started Besnowed today, and then I stopped after 6 chapters. Turns out that it brings about a lot of complicated feelings I have surrounding the holidays 🫣😂
So, I'll probably read it at a slower pace.
I have been thinking who's writing your writing style reminded me of and while reading Besnowed, it hit me that you share similarities with the works of Hisashi Kashiwai and Sayaka Murata.
Happy Holidays John ❤️🎄❤️
