Getting Well
Hoping for a quick recovery and successful release
Hey! Have you caught your summer flu?
I did very shortly after sending out last week’s newsletter. An unfortunate setback as I attempt to launch multiple projects.
This will be a very short update while I focus on fully recovering. I want to be ready to really jump back into the fray.
Paperback Proof
The proof copy of Lux Aeterna arrived and it looks amazing!
The Arstafas cityscape and the hallowed light flipping the darker shadows on their head. The book will look very nice alongside both Rhean and Maneus.
The full set and scene was crafted by my sister yet again. If you’re looking for nothing more than shelf art, then perhaps that alone makes them all worth buying.
I seem to have learned from my mistakes and most of the formatting looks fine. There are a few changes that need to be made, notably concerning fonts that apparently can’t be printed, but that is an easy thing to fix when everything already fits correctly on the page.
I made a neat little video going over some of this, despite having completely lost my voice:

Preorder Count
While it’s unfortunate that preorders are only possible for the Kindle version, I did finally figure out how to actually track that statistic.
What I found was maybe not the most optimistic, but a single preorder is still better than the zeros I was seeing in the usual reports.
I’ll chalk some of that up to the cumbersome barriers involved with Amazon and Kindle editions, but it is neat to see any number at all.
I suppose the bigger test of faith will come with the actual release!
Short and Sweet
That’s about all the energy I have for this week. I’ll be back with gusto in good time.
