Hey! Who is significant to your life?
There are many ways to go about defining love. A blend of loyalty and attraction, devotion or duty — filial, romantic or divine.
I enjoy that ambiguous space, where love takes on myriad shifting meanings.
So, when I took on the challenge of writing a love story, I chose a title that mirrors that complexity — a name woven from the same rich tapestry.
🧣 Significatorius — Love under adverse stars, music at the end of the world.
All those emotions are inseparable threads of the genre. The way a feeling grows into an unstoppable compulsion.
Presentable Mess
I’m proud to announce that I have a second rough draft ready. I’ve already put it up on google docs and shared it with a few people.
I’ll keep it on an invite-only basis for now, but that first step is always a little intimidating.
With the earliest of early comments coming in, I thought I’d explain more of what exactly I’ve written.
At its core, Significatorius follows Palena Moria, a university student whose quiet moment of reflection at the lighthouse at the end of the world takes an unexpected turn.
Avelven Selk, a very famous rockstar, suddenly appears and starts speaking to her like an old friend.
He explains how he was supposed to already be on tour in Antarctica, but a sudden quarantine shut down the entire continent.
As luck would have it, Vindem, a major local festival, is about to begin—offering Avelven and his band a second chance at performing, and giving Palena more time to grow close to him.
From there, a new relationship sparks and ignites over the four main events of the holiday.
There are, of course, more than a few twists and turns along the way, but it’s better to leave those as surprises for now.
End of the World
Now that the second rough draft is actually out, I’ll finally share the map of Oshovia I’ve been teasing for weeks.
Even those who have only read the first few chapters will recognize some of these names.
Hopefully, placing them on a map breathes more life into the whole setting and story.
Otherwise, if you’d like to be one of the first readers — or just want a glimpse into my world — send me a message, and I’ll get you access to the google doc.
Until next time.
